The BBC has no shortage of damaged and brooding detectives. Wallender is another one. I wonder if Swedish people really have such utter contempt for policemen.

Kenneth Branagh again showcases his great acting here. Minor details are just as wonderful to provide more characterization. I just like that part where he wiped his sweating armpit with the curtains!

I'm not sure how I feel about this show yet. Wallander doesn't really have a partner/right-hand-man so I feel like there is a dynamic missing from the show. It has great potential though.

A combination of fast pace, and thoughtful meditative time. Branagh is always great. The photography is exceptionally beautiful, as well.

Superb acting, gorgeous cinematography. Branagh's portrayal of Wallander is subtle and nuanced, and touchingly human. The extras are worth a watch, especially the dialogues between Henning Mankell and Kenneth Branagh.
