I'm afraid author Arthur Phillips does too good of a job creating irritating, pompous, ignorant, and snobbish characters.
The cast of narrators did well, but that didn't make up for the irritation of listening to the story.

The book format had a very odd narrator style that I had a very difficult time following and staying interested in. I did not finish the book, and I rarely quit on any book.
