The young Victoria always has people advising what she must do and how she must act. The diary is her secret escape and where she pours out her musings from age 10 to 12. She comes to the realization that it is likely she will be queen one day.
A list of characters is at the book’s end. This would be more useful at the front as Victoria has many uncles, aunts and associates to keep track of.

The Royal Diaries are excellant historical fiction books that are a spin off of the Dear America books. They cover different royals in different countries and in different time period. Great for kids around ages 9-11.
