You might also like the "Under the North Star' trilogy by Vaino Linna which deals with the underlying causes of the Finnish Civil War of 1918, the Civil War and the aftermath.

This book is set in Finland in 1902-1904 at the time when Finland is trying to be more independent. The main character is the daughter of a revolutionary. It is a good read and solid story.
