A real Humanitarian, a real Hero, and an example for all.

This wonderful biography of Tommy Douglas is a timely memorial as we mourn the loss of Jack Layton. Not a boring history lesson but an inspiring reenactment of much that we may not have learned (or may have forgotten) about the origins and evolution of the New Democratic Party. Very helpful in understanding where we came from as a nation (even despite some historical inaccuracies about Premier Gardiner of Saskatchewan). Exceptionally fine acting.

I found it to be a solid depiction 'the greatest Canadian', as selected by the people of this nation. being a bit of politico i would have enjoyed a more in depth look at his public life. it was also a tad sappy at times.
performances were great all round, appearances by paul gross, don mckeller and others show how important it was for a number high profile Canadian filmmakers to be a part of telling this story.

I highly enjoyed this movie; I thought it was well made, presented clearly and showed considerable acting, directing and movie making talent.
