In 1993 LAPD detective Harry Bosch was assigned the case of a missing woman, a case he never solved. Now, years later, Bosch is asked to take the confession of a man who claims to have killed the woman. In the course of his work Bosch discovers that he may have missed an important clue years ago, a clue that could have prevented other murders from taking place.
