I picked up this book because it was a staff pick. I was pleasantly surprised and entertained by the book. Well developed characters with a good plot line. If not for going to earn a living I would have finished the book in a day! So nice to hear familiar places in Canada mentioned in the book. I have already placed a hold on two of his other books. Great read!

Rotenberg brings Toronto to life in Ari Green's fourth legal thriller. It is so much fun to read Canadian crime drama from a practicing lawyer. Toronto is as much a character as those living and breathing, who struggle with the law and life. Family drama and courtroom drama clash in Stranglehold to create a riveting read.

Excellent as always. Has everything you want in a legal thriller: the case, the courtroom scenes, and well-developed characters: Ari, Kennicott (perhaps the best "supporting character" I've ever come across in a book series), Jo, Ari's father and many others. These are the types of stories John Grisham USED to write when he was at his peak.

Rotenberg sucks you into his world with another great page-turner. Loved the references to Rob Ford :)

The Telegraph Journal says that Rotenberg is Canada's John Grisham! He's so much better it's not a compliment. The twists and turns carried right to the last chapter.

Gripping story with all the characters that we've become attached to from his previous books. I couldn't wait to get to the end and then was sad when it was done. Great read!

Detective Ari Greene continues to be a compelling character as he struggles with a personal loss and challenge. Enjoyable read overall, but the poor copy-editing in this book detracts from that. I hope Rotenberg's publishers are more careful with his next book.
