Marnie Logan often feels like she's being watched. Nothing she can quite put her finger on - a whisper of breath on the back of her neck, or a shadow in the corner of her eye - and now her life is frozen. Her husband Daniel has been missing for more than a year. Depressed and increasingly desperate, she seeks the help of clinical psychologist Joe O'Loughlin.

Joe is concerned by Marnie's reluctance to talk about the past, but then she discovers a book packed with pictures, interviews with friends, former teachers, old flames and workmates Daniel was preparing for her birthday. It was supposed to be a celebration of her life. But it's not the story anyone was expecting . . .

This is my 2nd book by MB and I am really impressed with his excellent writing and story telling ability. I will be reading all his available books now.

Again, Robotham has an uncanny ability to make deeply dark and disturbing topics immensely readable. The reason, I have come to realize after novel number three, is the depth and subtlety with which he has drawn the unlikely pairing of O'Loughlin and Ruiz, whose bond is unforced and easy to like.

Strange concept, interestingly developed and well written, I enjoyed the novel.

Robotham uses many characters to tell the story, even italics so that readers can easily identify this special character. This story reminded me of Ruth Rendall's dark psychological stories with twisted characters. With this novel I felt I knew where the author was going with the story half way through so I groaned, but continued reading only to find my interest was picking up as the story was unveiled, motives revealed, and relationships explained. The novel gradually became a page turner. The story ended differently than how I thought it would. I would probably read another of his books as this was my first one. I found it on the display shelf of "New Books" and signed it out when I saw that this novel came highly recommended by suspense and thriller writers like S. King, V. McDermid, and Peter James.

Solid and interesting thriller with a bit too many truly farfetched elements for my liking.

I have loved all of Michael Robothams books, but Watching You is the very best.......I could not put it down. An amazing story line with many twists and turns. My rating was supposed to be five stars!
