This book is my favorite of all the silver birch books I read. I really liked how Dash went back in time. I heard of Harry Houdini before and i like how the book was a twist of his life. It was about his life but more interesting.

One day Dash and his parents went to a magic show in 2011. A man chose Dash to help him with a trick, the thing is...Dash at 12 balls of gum and felt like throwing up! So still he went (even though he did not want to)up to the stage for the magicien to do the bubble trick. And so he did do the trick and all of a sudden! Dash was in the theatre 71 years ago! He tried to get back but he didn't know know how! He meets people along his journey, he sees his house 71 years ago before his parents moved in.His parents would move in 24 years after and have him in 30 years!Oh la la!What has he gotten himself into.

Saving Houdini is an amazing book. I would reccomend it to anyone. If you enjoy magic it's in the book. Mystery? Check! Historical fiction? Check! And of course, the characters. My favourite is Walter. If you haven't read the book, you definitly should!

"Micheal Redhill has summoned old Toronto very well and yet made it feel like the perspective of a 12 year old from 2011"
