Not knowing the storyline, and as a recently grieved individual, I was not sure I could read this. I decided to when I was in the right mood, and glad I did. It is beautiful. Elise was completely bereft and alone for 7-8 months before realizing others grieved also; people who truly loved her and understood her devastation. We can get thru most things by opening our hearts and eyes. I've adopted her conclusion of our new life as 'surreal and sad'.

I have to admit I picked up this book because I love cats, but the book is not at all about cats. It is a gut wrenching story about a single mom going through the bereavement process after losing her 11 year old son. I found myself feeling like I was going through all her emotions with her. Very nicely done and well written Edeet. Highly recommended.

This book is so beautiful and captivating. It almost hurt to read it because of the strength of the emotion in it, but everything about it is really, really beautiful

I throughly enjoyed this book. The explanations of her feelings after her son died were very well explained as I went through those very emotions.

After her son dies in a hit and run car accident a mother decides that she must continue on to take care of the cat that he loved.

The title is misleading - the cat is hardly mentioned - but it's a moving story about living after a tragedy when you think you have nothing left to live for.

A short easily read story.
