This is my favorite comedy movie of all-time! I think the jokes are very well-written and well-delivered. The actors make you believe they really are dumb and dense! I have never laughed so hard, or so long, from a movie! The prequel and sequel are terrible, however.

There must be a charm to stupidity, triggering a sense of superiority that ignites laughter at the lesser. DUMB AND DUMBER, which revolved around the antics of two numbskulls who take off cross-country to return a beautiful woman's briefcase, was a huge success when it was released back in the early nineties. People still quote it with loving admiration. I appreciate the silliness, sure, but I've always been comically underwhelmed by their stunts, including the laxatives and the vibrant suits and the most annoying sound ever. None of it resonated with me. I think it's the mere presence of rubber-faced Jim Carrey's larger-than-life personality and Jeff Daniels's adherence to his every whim that possessed so many audiences way back when. So I feel that DUMB AND DUMBER will continue to be hit and miss with viewers, though, for the few who haven't seen it; some will love it, bowing down and worshipping its alleged comic genius, and others will flick it off before the dead-headed duo reach Colorado.

Contrary to the small-scale backlash DUMB AND DUMBER TO received and the criticisms that it was cashing in on nostalgia value, I felt that this sequel is about as good as the first one and stands alone as a separate entity. It creates a few new gags while returning to that special sense of idiocy that made the original so inexplicably successful. The best parts, as always, aren't the gross-out pranks and inane conversations between Lloyd and Harry but rather the interactions between the pair of dunces and their more intelligent counterparts. It's the juxtaposition that hits the mark. Ultimately, DUMB AND DUMBER TO is a fair time-waster but you'll be just fine without seeing it. So if you didn't love the original, I don't recommend the sequel.

Butt-crack of a movie. Maybe not as outrageous as the original.

So disappointing, 19 years after the first hilarious movie, this one came with no new ideas and aged actors, who still made a great job, but the script is poor in my opinion. I had only one laughing moment throughout the whole movie.. still it was a nice laughter, but my expectations were much higher! I would have had more fun watching the original movie for the 40th times. I wanted to turn it off after few minutes but I had nothing better to do so I've watched it completely, mostly waiting for the end.

I enjoyed this when I saw it in the theatres last year, maybe because I paid $10 and figured I may as well sit through it all, but now that I'm borrowing it from the library free of charge and seeing it for the second time, though it's been a year and it's like seeing it for the first time somewhat, I turned it off after 25 minutes. If you're bored and have nothing better to do at the moment this movie can do the trick if you don't mind 'dumb' humour, but other than that you may find yourself deciding not to put up with it. All in all, I recommend you give it a go if you haven't seen it yet.

Liked it. Good for a laugh or two. If you like the first one, this one should do the trick, but not better than the first. Hard to beat it.

The original was a low-brow classic. While the writing in this sequel was meh, Jim Carrey specifically, still brings the physical comedy.
Solid, but unlike its predecessor, one viewing of the sequel within my lifetime will be enough.

Loyd:
"Is (friend's name) here?"

Friend's parents:
"He's dead"

Loyd:
"Oh! I thought he pulled through, the obituary said he was survived by his parents"

Parents:
"No, he didn't pull through, motorcycle accident, but you knew that, you sold it to him"

Loyd:
"Ya traded him for his helmet straight up!"
