Everything seems to be changing for the better at Hotel Transylvania. Dracula's rigid monster-only hotel policy has finally relaxed, opening up its doors to human guests. But behind closed coffins, Drac is worried that his adorable half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis, isn't showing signs of being a vampire.

the movie was great except that they took out the part where Drac said "are you kidding me?!" after they hopped on the lil scooter, just like he did in all the trailers (except maybe the final trailer? was there a final trailer i didnt watch before the movie?). i think that scene wouldve been just a bit greater if they'd left that part in. why did they take it out?? they were in a big hurry and a snail couldve gone faster than that scooter. :P other than that, it was great. lotsa goofy little moments in there, i was not disappointed. :D

The whole thing was good except for the ending. The ending was unrealistic. The rest was fine, but not as good as the first Hotel Transylvania.

I liked Hotel Transylvania and I liked Hotel Transylvania 2. It's fun, corny, has good animation and offers entertainment for adults and children.

SPOILER ALERT!!!
We just went and saw this movie, and it was not appropriate for toddlers/young kids. The first half is funny and true to the first movie. The second half....not so much. As a present to his grandson, Drac brings Dennis (his grandson) favorite TV character, Cakey (similar to Elmo) to the party. Dennis' great-grandfather, Vlad decides to "scare the fangs out of" Dennis by possesing Cakey. Cakey is yarded into the air, and his head starts spinning around, and he is jerking, as though being tortured. He begins asking for the violence to stop, and it does not, terrifying Dennis. The second scary part that happens in this movie is when Dennis runs away from the hotel after overhearing that he doesn't belong. Dennis' great-grandfather's minions, which look like Gollum from LOTR, chase Dennis, and break into his hiding place, almost like in a horror movie. They have full intention to kill him because he is human. Everybody escapes, and it is a happy ending, but this movie is not good for kids!

First of all, THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS! I just saw this movie, and was not impressed. As a fan of the first movie, I was really looking forward to seeing this. I thought the first half was great, super funny, and had a nice message. "Wow, they didn't kill the sequel!" I thought to myself, thrilled. Then we got to the climax... I wouldn't say it was not appropriate for kids, but I thought the whole plot was really crummy. FIrst of all, Mavis and Jonathan bring their sons favorite TV character, "Cakey" (Elmo's twin!) to his party. The son, Dennis, should be thrilled! Then, Drac's evil grandfather bewitches/possesses the cute guy, making him twitch and jerk uncontrollably, making his head spin around and around, (imagine that happening to Elmo), and generally scaring the poor son to death(he has to watch his favorite TV character possessed). A little later, Mavis and Drac get into an argument over the son, about accepting him how he is, and not trying to make him into something he isn't, and the son, who feels he is not welcome (on his birthday, for that matter), flees the hotel into the night with his only real friend. They hide in the tree house, where the girl makes him some "food", which is really cute. However, unbeknownst to pretty much everybody, Drac's father (the evil grandpa) brought along one of his scary, bat/ghoul monsters, who hates humans. The monster hunts the kids down and attacks them in the tree house, capturing them. IT WAS NOT SCARY, just not fun to watch little kids (its his 5th birthday) get hunted down and attacked. However, in that moment, the son uses his pent up rage, when the monster hurts his friend, to magically grow his fangs and turn into a bat, basically into the super hero he's always wanted to be. The little 5 year old kid proceeds to beat the big, bad monster into a pulp. I found it to be kind of cheesy, after all, the kid was only 5 years old! Then his parents and all the other monsters from the hotel come, where they all fight the rest of the bat ghouls, which the first one called for backup. Then, in the cute and not that bad ending, they have a big reunion and make sure he knows he is accepted as he is.
PLEASE NOTE THE ONLY PART OF THIS MOVIE I DIDN"T LIKE WAS THE CLIMAX!! I enjoyed the rest of it. THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION! I know lots of other people have seen it, and loved it. So, don't take this too seriously.
In a nutshell: Good, funny beginning, good messages. Not so great climax, possessed kids TV character, young kids being hunted down and attacked by a monster.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Possessed child's TV character, young kids being hunted down and attacked by a monster. Not scary, just intense.

[From Trailer; Dracula, Frank, Wayne, Murray, Dennis and Griffin are riding on Blobby's motor scooter]
Dracula: Hit it!
[the motor bike moves forward one inch per minute, due to the combined weight of the riders]
Dracula: [very annoyed] Oh *Come* ON!
