Delightful BBC drama from 1978 based on the popular novel by R.F. Delderfield. Plenty of interesting (and sometimes shocking) moments in the storyline and characters are full of depth and feeling. I truly came to enjoy finding out what happened in each episode.

Molasses in January moves faster than this story. Once again, full of every stereotype and cliché, it's about an England that never really was. Made in the 70's - it looks it - very dated. I guess you could watch this if you wanted to fall asleep, but that would be made difficult by the fact that some of the actors feel that shouting their lines indicates sincerity. Not so much....Can't really recommend this.
