My husband with Scottish ancestry has enjoyed this in a big way. He has been reading and talking about them for a few years while he read all. Now he needs a new author.

Dreadful! Badly written and utterly unbelievable. Total waste of my time getting it etc. Spent 10 minutes reading the beginning and I regret the waste.

The first volume of the Hamish Macbeth series. I don't normally go for cozy mysteries, but there's something about the humor in this series that appeals to me. Set in Highland Scotland, and featuring pleasantly quirky characters and mysteries that are never terribly sad or gruesome, it's a good comfort read.
