When I started taking Chinese classes at school starting in 6th grade, I really started getting into the culture and language. Now, I really want to go to China. Then in 7th grade, I watched a documentary on the massacre in 1989 and I started crying. Then I read the book and I cried even harder. This was my first nonfiction novel I have read willingly and I loved it. But it was extremely sad.

I had to read this book as a novel study at school and I have to say, I actually enjoyed it. Very well written and gave me a new perspective of China.
