Wish with all my heart I was aware of this book's existence at its original time of publication. I was then exactly the same age as the young protagonist, and shared a lot of her insecurities; reading this might have helped where clueless (and absent) adults failed me.

The book talks about puberty and friendships more than God. I liked it very much when I was 12 even though I wasn't dealing with some of those issues. At the end, yes, she feels pressured to choose one religion over another. Her father and mother's parents are from two different religions, and one is not accepting of another's.

I know a lot of others adore this book, but I personally don't see what's so wonderful. It seems to be focusing more on inappropriate things and less about Margaret actually talking to god. It seems more like God is just an imaginary friend to Margaret. She could call him Santa and the relationship wouldn't change at all.

As a young person this book was in heavy rotation on my reading list. I saw myself in Margaret's search for faith and floundering journey through puberty. I recently read it as an adult and I still love it. This book navigates the perilous preteen years with humor and the sweet awkwardness of being a kid.

This classic is a great choice for girls facing personal conflicts of faith. Many girls will identify with the growing pains that come with being a young woman and the difficulties that can face friends who experience puberty at different rates.

This book is so good that I finished it in one day.
I think this book is most suitable for grades 5-8

I somehow missed reading any Judy Blume when I actually was a pre-teen, but experiencing this book for the first time at 25 was its own unique experience. It was like opening up a time capsule to the days when things were much simpler, yet infinitely more dramatic. Never has there been a character I could relate to more than Margaret Simon!

I liked this book! Margaret a nice 11 year old girl has just moved and is dealing with those normal problems ( the girly ones). I think I should have probably read it a little earlier on , I just wanted an honest short book.

I loved, loved this book. It's about a girl named Margaret, who's experiencing life as a teenager. This book tells you also a bit about what's going to happen as you grow older. Judy Blume just made this book so irresistible. If you are looking for a book to read, read this one.
