I was initially interested in this 'biopic' of James Whale, but I found it sadly disappointing. I admire Ian McKellen, and I just saw him in "Mr. Holmes", which was excellent. I found this swishy, effeminate role extremely unappealing, however. A gay Gandalf cooing over and fondling Brendan Fraser just doesn't do it for me, sorry. No offense to those of that persuasion. I did find the disgusted housekeeper 'Helga' or 'Hanna' played by Lynn Redgrave funny, though.

One of the strangest random stories to be so sublime that I've ever seen.
