This book was beautiful and really touched my heart. I felt the author could have gone a little deeper with the connection between characters, but that was the only thing. A book all about waiting for things that will never come back, and coping with loss. Friendship, love, resentment, this book has it all.

14 year old Feena still hangs on to the memory of her brother Christopher who died as a baby. Even though she was too young to understand when it happened.

Feena finds herself lost in books when her mother moves them to Florida. Feena intends to stay lost in her books forever until something changes her life.

A little boy named Christopher is being abused my his mother almost daily. She constantly threatens to leave him, and Feena always waits for her to come back.

But one day she doesn't come back and Feena takes the toddler unsure that she can give him better, but positive that he deserves the chance at a good life.

But skipping school isn't something that goes un-noticed, so Feena makes an un-likely friendship that just might determine Christy's future.
