This entire series is great for learning the history of our country. It's easy to forget that not so long ago young girls were sent away from France at such a young age to find fortune and, of course, a husband!

This is a great book, I read it back when I was younger,
I understood more of it now and it was great!
Very wonderful and lets you also learn about Canada.

Good book; it beautifully described the trials of the journey that the Filles Du Roi had to go through to get to Canada. Helene is a nice character and the people she encounters are beautifully described and written as well. Some parts get slow but overall, very good.
