A good plot with some interesting twists, a few deaths, a racial crime and even the beginning of a romance for Thorne. As usual Thorne is the disgruntled cop, unpredictable, not always liked with his dry sarcastic humour. As he digs further in the case of the kidnapped Luke, all is not as it seems with secrets long held by Luke's parents, the father being an ex DCI. It is suspenseful right to the end but this British crime novel does not have a lot of character development. But I did enjoy it and will be continuing with the Thorne saga.
