This was very interesting. We moved to the Hamilton area from Kingston four years ago. Wolfe Island is COVERED in windmills. I just had no idea what they can be like. This movie doesn't even go much into things like bird and bat strikes, the only negatives I'd heard about. The cost to put these up is incredible, the amount of concrete and metal used, the height of them, the noise, the way the companies try to play neighbours off against each other and keep everyone in the dark.... But the most striking thing to me, and something that had never occurred to me and yet when they mentioned and showed it I thought, "Of course" - was the strobing effect. Of course these suckers cast long shadows. Of course these shadows will flicker. Of course they will reach people's homes. Of course you CANNOT EVER GET AWAY FROM THEM. And just think - you couldn't ever sell your house, either. Who would buy it, once they'd seen perma-flicker in every room?
