Michael Bradman does an admirable job of mimicking the style of Robert Parker. It isn't perfect but one can't expect it to be. The book was enjoyable overall, though it did, sadly, have many shortcomings that made it from feeling like a true Jesse Stone story. There are some incredibly stereotypical characters who were much too silly to take seriously and I really felt like, despite some small victories, this book just ultimately resulted in a failure of the police force overall, which isn't what one wants to see in these sorts of books. A good read nevertheless.
