Inside "Sweet Salt Air", Delinsky mentions that she changed publishers - and it shows. Normally Delinsky writes simple but effective prose and keeps focused on the story. In this novel, I found there were subplots to the subplots. It was like her editor said, "expand on this topic" or "give more information on that subject" and it created a multiplier effect. If you can wade through all that, there's a really good story buried in there.
